A Global Birthday Celebration
Updated: 19 minutes ago

This November, the worldwide Baha’i Community will celebrate the births of its Twin Prophet-Founders, the Báb and Bahá’u’lláh, on November 9 and 10, consecutively. We honor their lives and their Messages of unity and renewal for humanity. Today, there are about eight million Baha’is worldwide, along with many more of their friends, who are working together to overcome prejudices and national boundaries to create a united world community.

The history of the Baha’i Faith began less than 200 years ago in Persia. Both the Báb and Bahá’u’lláh were from respected families in Persia. Their divinely ordained Messages, proclaimed from 1844 to 1892, spoke out against the current conditions of religious bigotry, injustice and governmental corruption. They brought a healing Message of love that was magnetic, attracting the hearts of thousands of people. Immediately, They became the enemies of the powerful Ottoman Empire. As a result, both Prophets were subjected to severe conditions.
During the years of harsh imprisonment, both the Báb and Bahá’u’lláh recorded their Messages and shared them with the world. Now, the Bahá’í Faith is the second most widely-spread religion in the world. Bahá’ís and their friends are
committed to reviving our struggling human family and our tired planet. The engine for this effort is love, sourced from the Divine Spirit. Love is often quieter than conflict, but Love is the power that moves the Universe. Love will triumph. Never doubt it.
What a power is love! It is the most wonderful, the greatest of all living powers. Love gives life to the lifeless. Love lights a flame in the heart that is cold. Love brings hope to the hopeless and gladdens the hearts of the sorrowful. In the world of existence there is indeed no greater power than the power of love. ~ Bahá’í Writings
