Science / Religion: What is the truth?

This month we examine the relationship between two firmly-established knowledge systems. Religion and science have frequently been at odds with each other. For instance, there’s a difference in how each one gathers information. Science relies on empirical evidence and investigation, while religion depends on faith, inner perception and spiritual beliefs. When these two lenses focus on the same questions, these differences become apparent:
How old is the earth?
How did man come to be?
Does climate change really exist?
Is technology improving our world or is it creating more problems?
What is the truth?
We would like to propose another perspective to these apparently conflicting points of view. The Baha’i Writings invite us to expand our understanding of both religion and science. Could religion provide an ethical foundation for how we manage our world? And could science bring insight to the future of humanity?
“We may think of science as one wing and religion as the other; a bird needs two wings for flight, one alone would be useless”. ~ Baha'i Writings
We invite you to join us for thoughtful discussion and to share your ideas.
