A Busy Summer for Youth and Families

Hundreds of happy faces gather at Baha'i Summer Schools in Oregon

Badasht Baha'i School -- July 11-15

The annual family Baha'i school, near Lincoln City, OR, hosted 160 participants of all ages from our Northwest Region and beyond. The theme this year was "A Curious Mind on a Wandering Path: The Spiritual Pursuit of Learning."

The children's classes focused on the Life and Teachings of Baha'u'llah, the prophet-founder of the Baha'i Faith, while junior youth experienced hands-on outdoor exploration in environmental science, sustainability lessons, and teamwork. The older youth studied the tenets of the Baha'i Faith and adults studied Baha'i concepts about Marriage and Family.

Everyone enjoyed recreation and arts activities as participants explore spiritual principles and build unity. The mornings and evening devotions and songs uplifted everyone's spirits.

Carmel Baha'i School -- July 18-25

30th Annual Youth Camp

Carmel Baha'i School hosted its 30th annual youth/junior youth camp near Eugene, OR. About 90 youth and junior youth came for the week long camp with 30 older youth serving as counselors. The theme of study this year was "Marriage and Family." Participants renewed friendships and made new friends through the study, recreation, devotions, and arts activities including lei-making, wood-burning, dance, and other visual arts. As with every session of Carmel School, the evening devotional time under the stars was a highlight.  

Salem-Marion County Youth Activities resume

Salem area monthly Youth activities will resume on Sep. 12. The youth activities during the school year are mini-youth camps where the youth choose the topics they wish to study and discuss. Parents are welcome to stay, and enjoy coffee and discussions with other adults. For more information contact us.
